The Beatles

The Beatles, an English rock band formed in Liverpool consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Star. Together all four musicians produced some of the finest music ever. The Beatles are the best- selling band in history. Decades later their music is still in demand. They sold more albums in the U.S than any other artist and were on the billboards top Hot 100 artists in 2008, taking the number 1 spot.

In the U.S. the Fab Four have received 7 Grammy Awards, they were also included in the Time Magazine’s compilation of the 20^th century’s 100 most influential people., their film “Let it be” won the Academy Award for Best Original Song Score, they have been awarded 6 diamond albums, 24 multi- platinum albums and 45 Gold albums and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.

They have had more number one albums on the UK charts and have held their top spot longer than any other musician(s). In the UK they have been awarded 15 Ivor Novello Awards, Queen Elizabeth II appointed them Members of the Order of the British Empire, 4 Multi- Platinum albums, 4 Platinum albums, 8 Gold albums, and 1 Silver album.

The influence the Beatles have had is huge and still remains. They are more creative than any other band. They are what started the British Invasion of the US, and their music influences people throughout the entire world. Their music is amazing and will continue to live and be loved forever. Not only did they inspire people, but they inspired other musicians around the world. Their fashion impacted the world, everyone wanted to be just like them. 

 

Ringo

The Beatles changed music, and the role it played in people’s lives. 

Their different, unique and attractive style makes them seen as icons. 

The Beatles sing about peace and the world living together as one. 

They also sing about love and the importance of it. No other music

is comparable.

 

Third world's first pop star

 Bob Marley

Robert Nesta Marley was born on February 6^th 1945. He died from cancer on May 11^th 1981 at the age of 36. Marley, also known as Bob Marley was buried in a chapel near his birthplace. He was born in Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica in Nine mile (village).

Marley still remains the most popular performer of reggae music. He also helped spread awareness of Jamaican music and the Rastafari movement to the world. He himself was a Rastafarian. He would say that Rastafari is not a religion, it is a way of life. The Rastafarian lifestyle includes ritual use of marijuana, avoidance of alcohol, wearing hair in dreadlocks and being a vegetarian.

 The Green in the flag represents the lost lands of Africa. The Yellow represents the gold that was stolen from the African Americans by the white people. The Red represents the blood of the black people that became slaves. The lion represents

the struggle and the strength that Rastas went through by the white people.

Bob and his friends formed a group that they called the Wailing Wailers. With the Wailers he became the leader,  because he was the main songwriter.

Marley has been nominated for Grammy Awards. He won the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, the Jamaican Order of Merit, the Posthumous Achievement Award, Peace Medal of the Third world, the Q award, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Marley sang about politics, religion and life on the streets. He just wanted everyone to be happy and peaceful. Marley is one of the most intelligent and talented musician ever. Not only is he a legend but he is a role model. His open mindedness, and the love and care he had for everyone is what everyone should strive for.
